So through some very silly actions, I managed to irretrievably nuke my old blog from orbit.

Well done, Dave.

Fortunately this gave me a chance to explore some of the other blogging platforms available. I was previously using a Wordpress install with a pretty theme, hosted on my Dreamhost account. This was nice, however it may be a bit of overkill considering that all I am hosting is static content with nothing fancy.

A lot of people recommended Jekyll to me, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I’m actually quite surprised with how nice it is. It didn’t take too long to get going and I found a theme I liked pretty quickly. I’m not much of a designer so I didn’t really want to spend too much time messing around with the aesthetics of things.

The beauty of all of this is that it’s all hosted on Github pages, so any time I push content to my Github repository for this blog, the site is automatically updated. Neat!

Now, to tweak it to the N-th degree because I’m just that pedantic.
